The Sketching Workshop is a week-long travel drawing workshop visiting and drawing in Egypt. It is aimed at beginners, although some experience in drawing can help you get more out of the workshop. This trip is designed to be as affordable as possible. Therefore, each participant will be responsible for booking their flights and accommodations. We will share transportation costs (airport transfers, transfers for visits…) and each one will pay for their meals. Although we will do the entire trip in a group and sleep in the same places, etc. I tell you the places where you have to reserve and how to do it, and you take care of it. Then during each day I will be in charge of giving the workshop in the places we visit, I will guide you to make the drawing and I will correct you so that you achieve the best possible result.
During the cruise, we will do the group excursions, but not the official ones of the cruise, but on our own, to have time to draw in the temples.
Dates for the sketching workshop in Egypt
The workshop will take place from January 21 to 27, 2025.

| 25 January 2025 | Stops at the Kom Ombo temple and Edfu. Night on the boat |
| 26 January 2025 | Arrival in Luxor. Free day for excursions to the Valley of the Kings and the temples of Karnak and Luxor. Night on the boat |
| 27 January 2025 | Breakfast and transfer to the airport. Flight from Luxor to Cairo. End of the workshop and return flight. |
How does it work
I will be in charge of the workshop and organizing the trip. Participants must book their flight to Cairo i/v, reserve the hotel we will be in (White House Pyramids View) and pay for meals in Cairo. And reserve the flights Cairo-Aswan and Luxor-Cairo.

How to make a reservation at the sketching workshop
The workshop reservation process has 3 phases:
1.- Reservations can be made until the end of September 2024. First you have to send an email (joaquingonzalezdorao@gmail.com) in which I will inform you of everything. From August 1 to 15, 2024 there will be a special offer for early birds, with a 25% discount on the workshop price for the first 3 people to sign up. That is, the workshop will only cost you €300 / €75 for companions.
When the minimum group of 5 participants is reached during that time, the workshop is given the green light and the reservation of a place is made (€200). After sending me this first email, you can now reserve the hotel in Cairo. You can do it through Booking and with the possibility of cancelling the reservation
2.- Reservation of a place: when the workshop is given the green light, I will ask those interested for a first payment of €200 (€50 for companions). At this point you can book your plane tickets to Cairo and the 2 internal flights (Cairo-Aswan and Luxor-Cairo).
3.- Payment for the rest of the workshop (200€ for participants and 50€ for companions). This will be paid in cash in euros upon arrival in Egypt.
Cancellations
In phase 1 there is no firm commitment and cancellation is possible.
In phase 2 (1-15 October 2024) the reservation amount (200€) paid will NOT be refunded.
The payment for the rest of the workshop (200€) is also non-refundable unless the workshop is cancelled by the organizer.
Regarding the cancellation of the flight, cruise and hotel in Cairo, it depends on what each person reserves. It is recommended to book the hotel with the possibility of cancellation.

In Cairo we will stay at White House Pyramids View.
You can book it on Booking with free cancellation until January 21st 2025.
If you can’t find a place in that hotel, look for a similar one in the area, there are many there, next to the Pyramids.
Cruise Aswan to Luxor
The cruise will be a 5 star ship (Sunrise M/S Semiramis) that makes the route from Aswan to Luxor in 4 days / 3 nights, from January 24 to 27, 2025. Includes full board on board.
I have already booked 5 single cabins, which cost € 561 per person for 3 nights. I can cancel it until January 23. If someone wants to go with a companion, the cabin (which has 2 single beds) can be extended in occupancy to 2. As the reservation is in my name, you would have to pay me that amount, so that I can pay it to Booking on the day. You can see the characteristics of the ship on the BOOKING page.
The flights
I leave you here information on the flights you should book, so that we can all go as a group. Remember that you must reserve them yourself, but only when you have paid me the initial reservation of €200. Don’t do it before, wait until the workshop has the green light and it becomes 100% safe.
