The Sketching Workshop is a week-long travel drawing workshop visiting and drawing in Egypt. It is aimed at beginners, although some experience in drawing can help you get more out of the workshop. This trip is designed to be as affordable as possible. Therefore, each participant will be responsible for booking their flights and accommodations. We will share transportation costs (airport transfers, transfers for visits…) and each one will pay for their meals. Although we will do the entire trip in a group and sleep in the same places, etc. I tell you the places where you have to reserve and how to do it, and you take care of it. Then during each day I will be in charge of giving the workshop in the places we visit, I will guide you to make the drawing and I will correct you so that you achieve the best possible result.
During the cruise, we will do the group excursions, but not the official ones of the cruise, but on our own, to have time to draw in the temples.
Dates for the sketching workshop in Egypt
The workshop will take place from January 21 to 27, 2025.
The program will be the following:

| 24 January 2025 | Flight to Aswan. Transfer to the cruise ship. Visit to Philae, short trip to Kichener Island. Night on the boat |
| 25 January 2025 | Stops at the Kom Ombo temple and Edfu. Night on the boat |
| 26 January 2025 | Arrival in Luxor. Free day for excursions to the Valley of the Kings and the temples of Karnak and Luxor. Night on the boat |
| 27 January 2025 | Breakfast and transfer to the airport. Flight from Luxor to Cairo. End of the workshop and return flight. |
How does it work
I will be in charge of the workshop and organizing the trip. Participants must book their flight to Cairo i/v, reserve the hotel we will be in (White House Pyramids View) and pay for meals in Cairo. And reserve a place on the Jaz Crown Prince cruise from January 24 to 27.

How to make a reservation at the sketching workshop
The workshop reservation has 3 phases:
1.- Prior reservation without obligation: during the month of April 2024 I will accept reservations without obligation by email (joaquingonzalezdorao@gmail.com), which will be for my information purposes. If the minimum group of 5 participants is reached during that time, the workshop is given the green light and the place is reserved. After sending me this first email, you can now book the hotel in Cairo and the cruise. Both through Booking and with the possibility of canceling the reservation
2.- Reserve a place: from May 1 to 15, I will ask interested parties for a first payment of €200 (€50 for companions). At that time you can book plane tickets to Cairo and the 2 internal flights (Cairo-Aswan and Luxor-Cairo).
3.- Payment for the rest of the workshop (€300 for participants and €50 for companions). It will be made in cash in euros upon arrival in Egypt.
Cancellations
In phase 1 (April 22 to 30, 2024) there is no firm commitment and it can be canceled.
In phase 2 (May 1-15, 2024) the reservation amount (€200) paid will NOT be refunded.
The payment for the rest of the workshop (€300) is also not refundable unless the workshop is canceled by the organizer.
Regarding flight, cruise and hotel cancellation in Cairo, it depends on what each person books. It is recommended to book the hotel with the possibility of cancellation.

In Cairo we will stay at White House Pyramids View.
You can book it on Booking with free cancellation until January 21.
If you can’t find a place in that hotel, look for a similar one in the area, there are many there, next to the Pyramids.
Cruise Aswan to Luxor
To book the cruise you can also do it through Booking, on the Jaz Crown Prince (https://www.booking.com/Share-eyCrRZ) which leaves Aswan on January 24 and arrives in Luxor on January 27. You can cancel until January 10.
The flights
I leave you here information on the flights you should book, so that we can all go as a group. Remember that you must reserve them yourself, but only when you have paid me the initial reservation of €200. Don’t do it before, wait until the workshop has the green light and it becomes 100% safe.
